About

A specialist who knows your name

Capital Gains Advisory is a deliberately small practice. You work directly with Steve — from the first call through the final signature, and all year after.

Meet Steve Harrison, EA

  • Enrolled Agent
  • 10+ years in tax & legal
  • Unlimited IRS representation rights
  • English · Español · Português

Steve founded Capital Gains Advisory to offer something that’s hard to find: careful, specialist tax work delivered with patience and genuine care. He brings more than a decade of tax and legal experience to every engagement, with a focus on the areas where the rules are most complex — real estate and foreign tax matters — along with equity compensation, investors, partnerships, and trusts and estates.

As an Enrolled Agent, Steve is federally licensed by the IRS and is enrolled to represent taxpayers before the Internal Revenue Service in all fifty states, on audits, collections and appeals.

Steve speaks English, Spanish and Portuguese, so clients and families across Latin America, Spain, Portugal and Brazil — and here at home — can talk through their taxes in the language they’re most comfortable with.

How we work

  • Specialist, not generalist. We focus on the situations where expertise changes the result.
  • Direct access. No hand-offs to seasonal staff. The person who prepares your return is the person you talk to.
  • Calm and clear. We explain what we’re doing and why, without judgment.
  • Three languages. Steve works with clients in English, Spanish and Portuguese. Hablamos español. Falamos português.
  • Transparent pricing. Published starting prices and a confirmed fee before work begins.
  • Year-round. We answer questions and IRS letters in July, not just April.
  • Secure and remote. Documents move through our encrypted client portal; meetings happen on Zoom.

Where we work

We’re based in the Atlanta metro area and serve clients throughout Johns Creek, Alpharetta, Buford, Duluth, Atlanta, Brookhaven, Marietta, Norcross, Lilburn, Tucker and Decatur — and across the country and abroad through our secure portal and Zoom.

What is an Enrolled Agent?

Enrolled Agents are tax specialists licensed by the U.S. Department of the Treasury. EAs earn the credential by passing a comprehensive three-part IRS exam covering individual taxation, business taxation, and representation — or through qualifying IRS experience — and must complete ongoing continuing education. Like CPAs and attorneys, EAs have unlimited rights to represent taxpayers before the IRS.

Let’s make this year’s taxes the calm part.

Book a short introductory call. We’ll learn about your situation, tell you plainly how we can help, and give you a clear fee before any work begins.
